2. Read pages 57-64 of Sociology Alive 3rd Edition by Stephen Moore and Rally Coach the questions below


a) Explain the terms fragmentation, overlap and value diffusion when applied to social class

b) What are the traditional and the new working class - highlight the differences

c) What is the underclass - give evidence for and against its existence

d) Who are the traditional middle class?

e) What did Golfthorpe mean by the intermediate and servive classes?

f) What is proletarianisation?

g) Who are the traditional upper class?
